The Kassios Dias Running & Hiking Club is organizing the 13th edition of its annual race (25 km & 12 km) on Sunday, May 4th, with the start and finish at the Port of Kassiopi.
This year, the Kassios Dias team has prepared an exciting new 25 km race (+1300 m), replacing the classic 23 km course, offering athletes the opportunity to experience something different. The new race follows trails that were part of the 80 km ULTRA KASSIOS race and connects mountains, sea, caves, traditional villages, and breathtaking flora, leading runners through the authentic paths of Kassiopi, Sinies, and Loutses.
The race will start at 08:30 from the Port of Kassiopi. After a short stretch on asphalt, the race meets an uphill trail leading to the historic village of Podolakos. From there, it continues towards Peristerograva (Pano Grava), one of the largest caves in Corfu, offering athletes the unique experience of running through its impressive interior.
The course then climbs to the summit of Matagonas (8 km – 640 m altitude), where runners will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views. The descent follows forest trails, passing through the picturesque villages of Megoulas, Kremmythas, Kariotikos, and Agios Stefanos Sinion, marking the beginning of the unique Erimitis ecosystem.
The coastal trail leads to Avlaki and continues toward the finish line at the Port of Kassiopi.
At the same time, an introductory 12 km race (+350 m) will take place, mostly running through the stunning trails of the Erimitis ecosystem, offering participants a truly unique experience.
Stay tuned for more details!
At the same time, a 1,200 m children race will also take place and our young athletes will have the opportunity to experience the joy of running on a beautiful and safe course.
Race registrations will open on February 16th and will remain open until April 20th.
